About Us

The Sacramento Club sponsored the Rotary Club of North Sacramento November 28, 1925.  Twenty-four business leaders became charter members.  The membership included a doctor, lawyer, druggist, banker, minister, farmer, plumber, and manufacturer of ice, beverages, pencils, and ink.

George Dunn was our first President from 1925 - 1927.  We have also been very involved in the District when in 1949 Stephen Lombard became the clubs first District Governor. “What a feeling” of pride the Centennial District Governor of 5180 was Stephen Lemmon from the Rotary Club of North Sacramento.  Our club has several people that work quite hard on the district board.

There is a lot of rich history between the city of North Sacramento and us.  One of the first projects was a Teen Center (currently a community center) at Woodlake Community Park. The Rotary Club of North Sacramento has been involved in Grant High School for over 70 years.  Our club was involved when Grant High recently implemented a Renaissance Program for academics and attendance, which has gotten national recognition.

The Rotary Club of North Sacramento has maintained a tradition of having 100% participation in the Rotary Foundation as well as being involved with all avenues of service.
